8/01/24 | SYFRACO news

In 2023, SYFRACO strengthened its commitment to updating European security standards, in particular EN 1143-1, which is essential for the certification of safes and ATMs.

This standard defines burglary resistance criteria for these devices, guaranteeing optimum protection against attack. SYFRACO, in partnership with organizations such as EuroSafe, has actively contributed to the development of these standards in response to new threats.

Collaboration with European Experts

SYFRACO participates in working groups, especially with CEN TC263(European Committee for Standardization), to ensure that updates reflect current risks. This work aims to adjust security levels in line with new technologies and emerging criminal methods. For example, safes must not only resist mechanical attacks, but also be tested against new forms of electronic break-in.

Adapting to new technologies

The union’s efforts are not limited to revising technical standards. It also incorporates technological advances such as banknote neutralization systems and intelligent locks, ensuring that these innovations meet stringent European criteria. The result is better protection for people, property and data in the banking, commercial and private sectors.

Certification challenges

SYFRACO plays a key role in popularizing these standards among its members and the general public, explaining their importance for certified, reliable protection. These updates offer guarantees to users, while enabling manufacturers to comply with harmonized standards across Europe, thus ensuring a constant level of quality and safety.
